Hi,
I have an action item that I'd like to assign to multiple people. Instead of repeating the same action item and mentioning each person individually, is there a better way to do this? I'd like to keep the meeting notes clean, showing one action item as assigned to several people, but would be nice to have the task report that gathers all actions from these meetings in one page to show the action for each individual person and once each of them have marked the action as done, the single action item in meeting notes would automatically be marked as done as well. Or maybe if could be solved as sub-actions of an action. Pretty sure this is not possible in Confluence right now but has anyone been able to hack it and find a way to tackle this?
Hello @Eve Anijärv !
As I understand, you need to assign a single task item to multiple people.
Currently, this is not possible on a name by name basis.
What we need to do is use a Team for this objective.
The proposed approach is this:
- Go into your Confluence Site
- Click the “People” tab at the top
- Click “+ Start a team”
- Add the people to which you need to assign the task
- Now, create a page
- Add the task
- Assign it to the Team

That is a great tip except IT DOES NOT SEEM TO WORK.
I created a team.. but Jira won't let me assign a task to a team... So what is the point of creating the team????

@gina This is for assigning confluence tasks to multiple users (by creating a team of all users)
You cannot assign jira tasks to multiple users.

@Diego this does not seem to work for the task report...unless I am missing something. the "team" i have created is not an option in the task report macro. any way of having this appear so it can be set to individuals or the team when @'ed?
Cheers

you can use a checkbox or an @ and the team name but in the confluence tasks or a task report it seems that only the alphabetically first person in the team gets notification or the assignment. which seems to be contrary to the use case that was asked.

I have the exact same issue. I have assiged various tasks to different groups - only one person sees the item in their task report macro... even though all group members are listed next to the group name. I do not really understand why i had to create a group in the first place, if that is not working.
Any news so far or related articles maybe?
