Application link showing Network Error on Jira server

Parthibha Natarajan January 25, 2018

Hi I have a separate instance of JIRA 7.7.0 and Confluence 6.6.1 with an application link between the two.

The application link on Jira shows Status of Connected.

However, the application link on Confluence server shows Status of Network Error. The details of Network Error show "Invalid OAuth signature"

Both servers are in the same subnet and fully open between each other.

any help is appreciated?

Thanks

Hi - The invalid OAuth error on an application link is often caused by either:

  1. Misconfigured proxy or server.xml for the application.
  2. The application URL for the link does not match the URL that the remote application is reporting.

If there is a proxy between the applications, please make sure the server.xml file in each application's conf directory contains the proxyName, proxyPort and scheme. The applications will have to be restarted to pick up changes to the file. Please check out the details in Proxy Support HOW-TO and OAuth troubleshooting guide.

Looking forward to your next update,

Ann

Check the following link -  OAuth Troubleshooting Guide, it should help you to work through the connection error between Confluence and Jira.

Also,

1. Ensure the Base URL is correct for each application - Confluence and Jira

2. For HTTPS check if the application cert was added to trust store

2. If using a reverse proxy or port forwarding, ensure the application is correctly configured for use with a reverse proxy.

3. Try to recreate the applications links when all the above failed
