Action Item (tree view no longer works)

With the latest version of the confluence cloud, we have lost the ability to indent "Action Item" checkboxes.  We used to use this functionally to structure items and instead today they are flat. 

How do we use indent for action items with the latest version of the confluence cloud?

How to repro:

1. Make action item
2. Make a second action item
3. Hit tab to indent
4. See it doesn't indent anymore
5. Curse the Gods of Creation!!!

I'm trying to indent action items right now.  It worked fine in the old version.  

I'm using dashes to create something like a hierarchy as a work-around - not the same or desired experience though.

I've found this is possible if you copy an old page, which forces the old edit view to be shown, then edit the content.

Pretty horrendous though.
