Accidentally removed the wrong document so all versions gone

I downloaded and updated an xls document to amend it from Confluence, however when I loaded it back in,  there appeared to be 2 documents because the file names didn't exactly match.  I removed the older one but this had versions attached to it so now I've lost all version history.

Any suggestions on retrieving this?

My initial thought would be to re-load the older version back in in the hope it re-registers but i wanted advise before I did this.

You should be able to restore the deleted attachments from the Trash.

Go to Space Settings > Content Tools > Trash

You need to have space admin permissions to do it.
