Hello

We record smaller projects directly in Jira and create an epic for each customer project there. After completion of the project, I would like to send the external customer an acceptance report in which he can confirm the acceptance or list defects.

What options are there for this in Jira Premium or Confluence?

Many thanks for your help.

Greetings Marcel

Hello Marcel,

it depends in which system you want to grant access for the customer.

Possible Solution in Jira (rough scratch)

  • Configure Permission scheme to let the customer see and do what they should do
    • Mind the user count for your instance
  • Add a workflow step "Customer Approval" in your Workflow
  • Once the Epic reaches the status, all child-issues are moved to the "Customer Approval" status. You could use automation here.
    • Customer checks all child-issues (branch outgoing workflow steps)
      • for the defect branch a sub-task can be created (automation)
    • If all child-issues are accepted the Epic moves to accepted (automation)

Possible Solution in Confluence (rough scratch)

  • Use Automation to create a Approval Page in Confluence. You could also use our App AutoPage to add issue information to the created page
    • Customer documents the defects in a table
      • Create issues from the table. Once all the defects are done.

I would prefer to implement such a process in Jira.

kind regards

Armin Meyer
