That requirement "shortly" makes your topic challenging, but I will try. The marketing answer is: Confluence is content collaboration software that changes how modern teams work.

Confluence is a wiki. It is also like an intranet in a box/instant intranet. For the user, it's similar to Social Media apps. You have a personal space, an activity feed that shows what others are publishing, a user avatar and at-mentions etc.

Confluence is a wiki on steroids. You can customize your environment with bolt-ons to be very technical or very simple depending on your business requirements.
