Upgrading confluence from 5.9.3 to latest

actually i am fresher and my lead give me work to upgrade confluence to latest version 

so i don't have any knowledge about confluence and how upgrade thing are done but i know our confluence based on Linux operating system so kindly , give me step by step information that how upgrade things need to be done it will really helpful for me we are using currently 5.9.3 .

Hi Abbas!

There two supported methods to upgrade Confluence: manually or using an installer. The manual method basically involves downloading the newest version of Confluence, then running it against your existing Confluence Home directory. The installer method uses an installer to automate most of this process. The pages below outline the full steps for completing each method (both include Linux-specific instructions):

In either case, I recommend closely following the steps outlined in the documentation linked above, which provides detailed instructions and things to look out for to ensure a successful upgrade. And most importantly, be sure to test all changes in a staging environment before upgrading production to avoid any potential outages.
