Hello, I am basically wondering why some basic features like posting Announcement banner, Inspecting permissions etc. that should help poor admins manage the instance is initially included in Premium/Enterprise not already in Standard (or even all plans) .. I understand including bigger, more unique features like Whiteboards, Calendars that are available for every user.. but there are not so many admins usually per instance and rather than help them manage basic stuff they need to struggle.

I really like the feature enhancements that are being made to Confluence. Thank you for those.

Can you help me understand why basic functionality is sometimes ignored in Confluence? The one that immediately springs to mind is the inability to edit placeholder text in templates. Perhaps an insight into the decision-making that goes into this can help customers from becoming confused and frustrated.

Thanks!

What are the best practices for leveraging automation in Confluence Premium to improve cross-team collaboration and documentation consistency? We’re especially interested in any insights on scaling these automations effectively across a global organization

Where can we learn more about currently-open CONFCLOUD tickets? There are a lot of tickets open that have been "gathering interest" (and gathering dust) for years. Do you have a plan to groom the backlog? Does our engagement on tickets actually affect development in any meaningful way? Thanks!

What’s the best way to leverage Confluence Premium’s automation tools to streamline knowledge sharing and reduce manual updates across multiple teams?

Hi,

Here are the various features that could be implemented :

Concerning the whiteboards: is it possible to have a button to validate the changes made on the whiteboards as on the plans? The aim is to use whiteboards during IPs as team boards.

For example, if you move a sticky note outside a section, the section action will be rollback of the sticky note.

Concerning databases: is it possible to support JSON format for import?

Concerning CQL in Confluence : is it possible to insert confluence list with cql request as we do with JQL for Jira issues.

Best regards,
Alice.

Are there specific features or integrations that enhance communication and document accessibility for remote teams working in different time zones?

Do you have any plans on introducing Terraform provider for Confluence soon?

Hey! Thanks for a great session!

Q: As a enterprise plan Confluence admin, I don't see the "Spaces" feature in Confluence. Was this connected to an EAP? Do we have any posts from Atlassian regarding this release?

Is there a plan to offer a simplified/customizable version of page analytics? We would like give access to blog creators. But available information is who has viewed the page and how often. Our security team said it is not happy with this. Thank you!

Lately, we have noticed a lot of Loom ads on Confluence (even with the enterprise plan). At this point, we know that Loom exists! Can you somehow turn the ads off? Thank you! :)

Search optimization abilities in JSM portal seems poor.

KB articles are prioritized in search over forms.

other than summary field, is there a way to add key words to forms to have them move higher in a search.

are there plans to allow more control of how content displays on portal homepage ... example if we wanted forms to be prioritized over confluence content, if we wanted a shallower banner to give more room on the page for actual content, if we wanted a notification to display and disappear after a logged in user had seen it.

so far the interface seems restrictive

I'm enjoying Premium week. I've attend the most session this week than I did the past (2) years. Lol. Good info and even if you're an expert, I recommend attending some of these sessions as there are "LOTS" of new features to learn about. ;)

As a Confluence Premium Admin, are there ways to have an Excel table/.xlsm within Confluence that can perform calculations? Currently, Excel requires you to either open the file separately, or it doesn't allow editing. Also, are there any plans to add more space-specific features like announcements or a space hub? In big companies, there may be multiple teams or groups using different spaces, and the company hub/announcements just don't fit our needs. There also seem to be a lot of basic features that Confluence lacks, which Microsoft Word or Google Docs offer, that could greatly enhance the user experience with formatting.

I have 2 questions:

  • What are some innovative ways Confluence Premium's automation tools can be used to reduce redundancy in documentation and streamline content updates across large teams or departments?
  • Are there features or strategies you recommend in Confluence Premium for enhancing knowledge sharing and document accessibility across remote teams in different time zones?

Hi Confluence Team,

(Don't tell Jira, but I probably like you more!)

  • Is there a way to customize the new Analytics page to restrict certain information to specific groups?
  • I'm excited about the live pages coming soon in early 2025 (🤞🏻). I wonder how versioning will be handled with this new feature. Will every small change create a new version, or will changes be grouped in bulk? Can anyone who can edit the page transform it into a live page? If so, isn't this concerning for validation and ensuring the information is accurate and not in the draft stage?
  • Will Loom only be available as embedded videos in Confluence pages, or will we soon see better integration of Loom with Confluence?

Thanks in advance!

Question regarding smart buttons - Are there any plans to expand this feature to allow for custom actions beyond the current templates (so basically that you can customize smart button, like automation)? Guess this would be a huge help for tailoring workflows to meet specific team needs. Thanks!

Are there plans to make the search in Confluence more advanced like Jira? I know we can use CQL, but having the basic and a CQL toggle to help people form their CQL and be able to use it more effectively would be great!

@Arshiya Sultana @Rajiv Kedia great question! I'd recommend leveraging the following templates to get this going:

  1.  Send an email with an AI-generated summary and action items when a meeting notes page is published
  2. Create a Jira issue for engineering to review new product requirements
  3. Start leveraging Verified status (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Verified-Pages-Now-Available-in-Confluence/ba-p/2664827#M10861) and manage it with the "https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Confluence-articles/Verified-Pages-Now-Available-in-Confluence/ba-p/2664827#M10861" template.

Hoping these first steps help!

@Tomislav Tobijas yes! we're currently working on bringing the rule builder experience into smart buttons so you can create your own beyond our templates :)

Hi @Mirek - it's a great question, and totally understand where you're coming from on the need for tools that allow you to make a scalable impact as an admin.

We actually did recently release the Announcement Banner feature for customers on our standard plan (link to Community post), so hopefully that helps! And part of our thinking to include the Standard edition for the recent release of the User Access feature is that this will allow admins to accomplish the same task as the inspect perms feature, albeit more manually. So we are making a concerted effort to improve admin work for customers on Standard.

But overall, I want to convey that it's absolutely a fair point, and we are exploring more ways to support admins on all plans and not just those on our higher editions. So this is good feedback for us to be aware of. Appreciate the note!

Hi @emily - Good question. We definitely do take into account votes on JAC tickets into our product decisions. It's often one of the stronger pieces of evidence that we have for how important / currently painful something is. Also, the context people leave about why / how / when the item is affecting them is great for understanding things in a way that will help us solve them appropriately.

We do make an effort to review and update tickets on a regular basis, but this is good feedback that it seems like many have been languishing and it's unclear what our plans are for them. I'll share this with our team. Thanks for the Q!

Hi @mahboob_sharif - I think that there are a number of ways in Confluence today that are more manual (ex: status lozenges, dates, page history) to keep track of how things are being updated with asynchronous collaboration, but I'd also suggest keeping an eye on areas that we're looking into around making it easier to understand what updates have happened since you last visited a piece of content, translating content into additional languages, that may make this easier for a team like yours
