📣 New AI Summary & Action Items Smart Values and Templates in Confluence Automation 🤯

👋 Avinoam from Confluence Automation here again - this time with a SUPER exciting update on how we're integrating AI even further into Confluence Automation (in addition to the AI rule builder being generally available) by adding two new smart values which allow you to automatically send out AI summaries and actions of pages!

The two smart values we've added are:

1. AI Summary: {{page.AISummary}}
2. AI Action Items: {{page.AIActionItems}}

And to help get some use cases for this going, we've added two new templates:

1. Send an email with an AI-generated summary and action items when a meeting notes page is published
2. Create an issue (in Jira) with an AI-generated summary and action items when a requirements page is published

Last but not least, these smart values and templates are supported in the AI Rule Builder so you can ask it to create a rule that sends out a summary or action items from pages and it should be able to do that for you! 😀

When it will be available?

This is already available to all Confluence Premium and Enterprise customers!

This is some amazing work @Avinoam Having new smart values for AI is a great idea and can certainly see it coming in handy when dealing with meeting notes or project comms or product requirement changes on certain documents.

Is there a way to have AI summarize content as bullet points?

@Sean Braganza not just yet through smart values which is what we leverage in automation to inject them. This still requires some larger changes to be made to be supported but will keep you posted as soon as that's closer to becoming a reality!

Trying to use it but my values are blank when I receive the email. Is there an AI setting that needs to be turned on to get these values populated? Both page.aiSummary and page.aiActionItems were blank.

Any way to have the same smart value but for Jira issues? When using the JSM Chat feature, for a big wall of text on Slack, the Atlassian Assist just cuts the summary in the Summary field limit, but if we can generate a summary and update the Issue Summary field in a smart and AI way this is much better than a simple cut

What would you put in the TO field for the rule if you wanted the summaries sent to all the users who were mentioned on the page?

@creedy we don't support smart values for users to dynamically place in the TO field just yet, but we've added it to our backlog as that's a great suggestion!

The smartvalues are not working for me, I attempting to create a comment on the page, running the automation manually and the smart values are blank.  I can summarize the page using the summarize button at the top of the page but so far not able to use the smart values.
