In today’s fast-paced business world, effective communication is essential. Whether you're pitching a new idea to stakeholders, seeking investment or support, or simply sharing your team's progress or information. A well-structured pitch deck can make a significant impact in delivering key information to others.
With Confluence's great templates and the new presenter mode, Confluence is now your ultimate presentation tool. Gone are the days when we used to spend hours crafting presentations in PowerPoint where we had to transfer all information manually. Confluence offers a user-friendly and efficient way to create pitch decks, allowing you to captivate your audience with content from existing pages, charts, integrating Jira tickets, roadmaps, images and text.
Let’s explore two presentation examples, utilizing Confluence as your presentation platform, and cover formatting guidelines to ensure your pitch deck shines. 👩🏼🏫
This “Idea pitch template” serves as a valuable tool for presenting/pitching your new idea or concepts and seeking support or investment. The template helps structure your presentation, ensuring that you pass on essential information effectively and that you mention everything important. Customize this template to fit your specific idea and audience, and use it as a guide to craft a compelling pitch.
A similar template and a walkthrough can be found in the official Confluence template library: https://www.atlassian.com/software/confluence/templates/mvp-ideation
Tip: If you are working as a team on the idea make sure everyone is invited to the document so that together you can bring the idea to life!
This “Project review template” is designed to provide a comprehensive overview of a completed project reviewing its progress, achievements, and challenges. It serves as a valuable tool for reflecting the success of a project as well as improving future projects, thanks to the built in retrospective. Customize this template to fit your specific project, and use it as a guide to conduct effective project reviews.
Now that we've seen example structures and taken care of the content, here are a few tips to make your pitch deck a complete success:
If you can, incorporate visuals like images, icons, and graphics to enhance visual appeal and maintain a consistent style throughout the deck
Structure the deck with a clear beginning, middle, and end
Use concise headlines and bullet points (minimize large paragraphs to avoid overwhelming the audience)
Highlight key points, use color, or size or formatting - like the Panel macro - to emphasize important elements and key takeaways
Turn Confluence tables into compelling charts - utilize charts to simplify and visualize complex data or statistics.
Lastly, keep the pitch deck to a reasonable length to hold the audience's attention.
And don’t forget, make sure to enter Presenter mode by choosing Presenter mode in the More actions menu or using the [r] keyboard shortcut.
This is sure to make your presentation in Confluence a complete success. 📈
If you like more examples, check out “Never create a slide deck again with these two templates” where you can learn how to create a “Business status update” as well as “Project plan”.
If you want to level up your pitch deck with visuals directly in Confluence take a look at the Atlassian Marketplace and type in “Formatting Macros”. You'll find great apps here that can visually support your pitch deck and take it to a whole other level. 🎨
What are you waiting for? Go and try it yourself. Create your next pitch deck in Confluence and impress your colleagues. You'll probably never want to go back to PowerPoint.
