Confluence Cloud Bug Fixes - August 2021

Hi, my name is Sai Ramanathan, and I’m an Engineering Manager on Confluence Cloud.

The Confluence engineering team is constantly building new features that we regularly share with you on Community. In addition, we’re also continuously fixing bugs behind the scenes.

Here are just SOME of the bugs we fixed last month - many of which focused on task efficiency and integrations in Confluence.

• Cannot edit space templates if they have changed in the global template version Fixed by @akakade 

• Error on pages with multiple Jira issue-macro Fixed by @Nick Yang 

• Emojis are not rendered correctly in Apps and Macros Fixed by @Andrey Markelov

• Task Report Macro duplicates tasks Fixed by @Kash Goudarzi 

• Unable to share pages Fixed by @Jeremy Evans 

• Page card hover hides the left navigation sidebar scrollbar Fixed by @Jeremy Evans

• Unable to copy parent pages with children pages to another space Fixed by @Andrew Macheret

First emojis added to the release, and now bug fixing emojis.

With all the other bugs that need fixing, and basic functionality improving, why is emojis considered a priority ?

Doing work like that might be "fun", but why is effort spent on something that offers no benefit, aside from childish aesthetics ? I know someone is going to say, "but these give you the ability to react quickly to something", yes so does typing a word and hitting return.

I completely agree with Marcus. Still we are waiting for improvements on tables since the new editor was introduced. Every day this is annoying me.

Emojis are nice and all, but how about allowing me to insert a single pane, or fixing the broken panels that were just fine before the new editor? How about being able to insert files into a page that are already in the list of attachments?

I'd normally hound a poor Atlassian employee at Summit or something about these :) However, a big thank you for fixing the task report macro duplicate fix. I opened at least two support tickets for this as it needed rows removing from the database manually.

Engineering team,

Pain:  Not able to view inserted images in edit mode. 
User has to publish before one can view the multiple images inserted in the page.  

Solution: Allow to be able to view inserted image in a new browser tab.
