I have done very little with Confluence as a whole. And even less, of course, with Whiteboards. Looking forward to learning lots in the group and trying out some things. Anybody have some good case studies/scenarios?

We use the free plan, so we can only have 3 active boards at a time, but so far we've used it for mapping out customer workflows, as well as diagramming internal processes.

most of the features are basic whiteboard features, which you might already know from Miro, MS Whiteboards or something like this.

What makes Confluence Whiteboards outstanding, at least in an Atlassian ecosystem, is how it integrates with Jira. Some examples:

• Sticky note or shape with text in it? Convert it into a Jira issue!
• Import your Jira issues by JQL to visualize them
• Smart Sections: create a section and define a Jira action for it. All tickets moved to this section will be undergoing the defined action. This is great for planning workshops, sections could be for different Assignees, Story Points, Priority and so on

We'll be using Confluence for knowledge bases for Admins, Agents, and Customers. I'll also be using it to create Release Notes as we move forward. Good luck!
