I added a component repository from Bitbucket to Compass and it immediately gave me the environments 'Production' and 'Staging' to select in the drop-down menu in the activity view. What I am missing though are the Development/Test environments that are configured in the repository too.

Any clue what I might be doing wrong?

Hi @Michael Wohlfart, and welcome to the Atlassian Community!

You are not dong anything wrong, this is simply bad and misleading UX, insofar Compass oddly only supports these two environment types so far, even though the widget suggests exactly what you expected (and the underlying API supports more types indeed).

Unfortunately I didn't even get a response from the usually very responsive Compass team when asking about this after the introduction of staging support.

2025 here. The repository linked to my component contained no environments, but those Staging and Production environments were still listed by Compass. Events like commits on main branch were displayed for any environment, regardless of what I chose. Then I went ahead and added 2 new environment - none of which are called Staging or Production. I also unlinked and re-linked the component with the repo.

Still shows Staging and Production. Doesn't seem to be connected to anything.

You can see a more concrete example here.
