I'm evaluating Compass (currently using the free account) and I would like to integrate it with Bitbucket (paid account). I installed the 'Bitbucket for Compass' app, but now when I select Create->Import components, the Bitbucket app shows a grayed out 'Configure'. On the Apps page I can select the 'Bitbucket for Compass' app, but when I click on the configure button, it redirects me to the main Apps page. Clearing cookies didn't help.
Any ideas what I'm doing wrong, or is this a bug?
Hi, @erwin_de_groot!
To install and configure Compass Apps, you need to be a Compass Admin. If you had installed the "Bitbucket for Compass" App in Compas yourself, maybe your permissions have changed in the meantime?
Can you verify that you're a Compass Admin, or that a Compass Admin in your organization can click "Configure" in the Import flow and would then be redirected to the App configuration page where you can connect your organization?
@erwin_de_groot I think I was able to reproduce the redirect from "Configure" to the general marketplace apps page (instead of directing straight to the app management screen), so thanks for pointing that out.
While our engineers look into that, here's a workaround: in the marketplace discovery page, you should be able to search for the "Bitbucket for Compass" App. If you select it, the top-right "Configure" button (available for Compass Admins) should take you to the section that you're looking for where you can connect your Bitbucket organizations.

Indeed it turned out I'm not a Compass admin, although nothing indicated that this was the problem before. Since I'm an organization admin I could easily give myself Compass admin rights (why is this necessary?) and now the configure button works properly instead of the confusing redirect. Thanks for the tip.

@erwin_de_groot I hear you; the organization admin permissions and the Compass admin permissions manage different access constraints (even when the former can allow you to update the latter). I'm glad that this allowed you to complete the configuration.
Thanks to your feedback, our engineers are also working on an update to the redirection case that you pointed out for non-admin users, that should make this experience a bit clearer.
Please, don't hesitate to reach out if there's anything else that we can help with!
