Weekly Wonder: Engage and Inspire

Hi CUG members!

This week, we're shifting gears to explore how to increase your CUG member engagement:

"How can we increase member engagement through fun challenges?"

We all know that getting involved in your Company User Group (CUG) can be a fantastic way to learn and connect, but let’s spice things up a bit! Introducing engaging challenges can bring a new level of excitement and interaction among your members.

Here are some fun ideas to consider:

  1. Plan for Fun with Jira - Challenge members to use Jira to plan an upcoming fun event, be it a weekend outing, a game night, or any personal project! This not only familiarizes them with the tool but also encourages creativity and collaboration.

    • Weekend Chore List Challenge - Encourage members to organize and tackle their weekend chores using Jira. They can create tasks, set deadlines, and even share their progress with the group. It’s a lighthearted way to explore the functionality of Jira while keeping life organized!

    • Creative Project Showcases - Invite members to share a project they’ve planned or executed using Atlassian tools. This could be anything from a home improvement project to planning an event. Highlighting these projects can inspire others and foster a supportive environment.

  2. CUG Games and Competitions - Organize friendly competitions where members can use Atlassian tools to solve puzzles or challenges. For example, a scavenger hunt using Confluence pages or a trivia game about Atlassian products can be educational and entertaining.

  3. Share Your Success Stories - Create a space within your CUG for members to share their successes achieved using Atlassian tools. Celebrating these wins can motivate others to get involved and try new things, whether a work project or a personal milestone.

  4. Member Feedback - Incorporate fun polls or quizzes during meetings where members can share their thoughts on various topics. This engages them and provides valuable insights that can shape future events and topics.

Incorporating these fun challenges into your CUG meetings and spaces allows you to create a more dynamic and interactive environment that encourages participation and strengthens your community of users.

We’d love to hear your thoughts! What fun challenges do you think could work well in your CUG? Have you tried any fun initiatives in your meetings? Share your ideas and experiences in the comments below!
