Hello everyone,
today I will show you some Christmas bakery. I will bake "Hildabrötchen" or "Hildabrödle" as Thomas grandmother called them. Little Thomas liked them and the older one even more. You need some time for them, but they are not complicated, I think you'll manage to bake them.
So, that's what you need:
300 g / 3 US cups of flour
150 g / 0.664 US cups of butter
120 g / 1/2 US cup of sugar
1 package / 1 tablespoon Vanilla flavoured Sugar
1 Egg
Raspberry jelly
Powdered Sugar
How to do it
Put everything except the jelly and the powdered sugar together and knead the dough for some minutes.
Then put the dough in the fridge, for at least two or three hours - better overnight.
Roll out the dough (very thin):
Cut the dough using cookie cutters - you need two cookies for one Hildabrödle. Cut a hole (any form you like) into the upper half:
Then bake the cookies - 175 degrees Celsius, 350 degrees Fahrenheit, about 10 - 15 minutes - they should be slightly brown but not a lot.
Let them cool down.
Then put a little bit of raspberry jelly on the lower cookie:
Put the upper cookie on the lower cookie:
Cover everything with powdered sugar:
(Thomas helped me with that - this sieve is too big for me)
And be happy with your Hildabrödle in Atlassian design :-)
I love the pictures! 😁😁 And cookies look delicious, reminds me of my childhood as we have similar ones for Christmas in Czechia.

Thank you for including the US measurements too in your recipe- very kind of you for those of us who don't think in grams :)
