What can we do with our Kudos Points?  Is there a way to spend them?  Can we buy Jira Merch with them?

As of right now, no. But as for the future, stay tuned :)

You do get a T-shirt when you hit 500,000 overall lifetime Kudos points  - currently I think only 5 people have this shirt and are working towards the next milestone... Kudos Millionaire.

This is very, VERY, exclusive. Cool 😎, but exclusive.

I agree that the steps need to be "hard" to reach but half a million for a T-shirt seem excessive. I feel to have contributed quite well already and i'm only at 660 😮, i don't even get a sleeve of the shirt yet 🤣

Mugs, shirts, hats, whatever, those are the things people will then wear in the office and generate "office jealousy". @atlassian, just imagine when people feel it's accessible (albeit requiring contributions) and get engaged? You'll have an ocean of contributors to figure out all kinds of issues you may be having and the do it for the swag! :D

This here is a million dollar idea (that you should share in swag!!)

@Jonne Riikonen oh yes, we send the T-shirts as individual threads, keep an eye out in the mail for a series of envelopes.... 😉

In all seriousness, one consideration is that we're a global company so offering swag that can be sent worldwide is nuanced! But we're definitely working on it.

@Yuliia Tkachenko _Railsware_ we do pins for our Team events sometimes! Are you coming to Team '24? If so I'll try to make it happen for you next year.

Using them to get merch would actually be awesome! 🤩

But then again, if Kudos points become a currency and can get "spent", it would distort the leaderboard somewhat. Meaning that someone could spend all of their hundreds of thousands of points on swag and nobody would be able to see anymore that they are a top contributor.

@Andreas Springer {Actonic} the way we're thinking about it is that you would earn a type of currency alongside your kudos points, and those would be spendable - it wouldn't make sense to bump you down a level just for redeeming a reward, feels backwards. So we're definitely thinking about that!

That would be great.  However I guess that is just a way to Atlassian Community measures the way you're involved in some of their virtual activities!

@Aristóteles Quintanar it's definitely a way for us to see who is engaging and how, but the goal also is to help you discover things that might be helpful, interesting, useful, or fun for you. We also run programs that help the community give back by planting trees or removing ocean plastic - and we also want to reward you for your engagement! So, hopefully, you feel as appreciated as you are :)

Wow @Monique vdB , that's really amazing I assumed that all that you mentioned was for badges.  Thank you very much for a great clarification!

And yes, I really feel me appreciated in this nice community!

Swags - that's an idea! @Janice maybe you can forward this to the team 😄

@Patricia Carlin, as far as I know, you can only collect Kudos points and the points are visible on leaderboards and on your profile. There's no way to 'exchange' them for anything.
