How does kudos work?

Sometimes the kudos count rises, for example from 300 to 800. I don't think I did anything in the between. Is the count delayed or something?

Hi @Gabriela Costa {Appfire} , I have noticed that it can take a few seconds for the kudos to update, as well as the page would need to refresh, which sometimes makes it seem like it jumped all of a sudden.
