Constructive feedback about Kudos levels

Hello,

I am participating in the Kudos program and while it has been fun so far, trying to pick up badges by liking content and participating in discussions, I just wanted to give the feedback that at my current level, 10, I now need to double my points, which is quite a steep increase from the other levels, especially considering a lots of the challenges are 50 or 100 points. I understand it's not a race but it will take me considerably more time to go up to the next level and if everything after 10 is like this, it's a little discouraging.

I try to visit the Atlassian Community regularly but there is a limit to how much time I can constructively spend here. I can't speak for everyone, and I can see in the leader table for some people, this is not a problem but for others, like me, I think it's just a big jump up. Just wanted to share my feedback.

It's not likely to change due to some people being able to find the time or maybe even making a living spending time there, cough {Brant}, cough {Nic}, but I totally understand and agree with you there.

:-)

I'm not going to pretend I've spent a lot of time trying to understand the Kudos system.  I do think it should be exponential, so the next level should be harder to get to than the current one, but I don't think that difference should be too steep a slope.  The best levelling system I've seen was based on the Fibonacci sequence (the real one, not the approximation story point systems usually suggest), rather than a simple doubling.  I'm not sure what the Kudos here is doing.

Just for this (post) @Valerie Knapp I used the "Give the gift of kudos" today which boosts your number a little.

Lol, thank you @Michiel Schuijer . It was not my intention to come here begging for kudos but I will accept them gladly. :)

I do appreciate the opportunity to take part in this program. My point is that I think there can be room for super users and people with less time but similar motivations and intentions to be included / motivated / engaged in this program.

Have a great weekend and thanks again!

@Valerie Knapp thank you so much for the feedback! I will take a look at the levels and see if they need some adjustment and let you know the outcome.  We started with 10 levels and then "added on" 10 more, so it's possible we were a bit haphazard about the math. ;)

Since we're getting ready to come out of beta, it's a great time to double check our leveling. Thanks again!

Lol, I shouldn't have complained about going from 5000 to 10,000, the next level goes from 10,000 is 50,000!
