I've a Bitbucket account with some personal projects. I'm having trouble logging into my atlassian account. When I tried to log in it asked me to create the account. By mistake I did it and now it asks me to create a username, but I already have a username related to this account.
Hi Martin and welcome to the community.
Login to Bitbucket Cloud is possible with the primary email and not with any of the email aliases. Email aliases are used for Git aliasing only.
If you attempt to log in with any of the email aliases, you will get prompted to create a new account.
Were you trying to log in with the same email as the email of your community account? If so, this email is an alias to an existing Bitbucket account, and you will need to log in with the primary one instead.
Please feel free to let me know how it goes and if you have any questions.
Kind regards,
Theodora
Thanks for the answer, but I have used my primary email, and yet it asks me to enter a new username, as if it were a new user. I have checked the local git repositories and the primary email is correct.
Thanks

Hi Martin,
If you checked the email of the author in commits of your local repos, the email used there is based on your local Git configuration. This can be set to any email you want and it is not related to authentication, it is only used for commit metadata.
I would suggest trying to log in to https://bitbucket.org/ with any of the other email addresses you own until you manage to log in to your account. If you get asked to enter a username while trying to log in with a certain email, this means there is no account with this email as the primary one, and you can skip the process for that email.
Please feel free to let me know how it goes and if you still need assistance.
Kind regards,
Theodora

I did the verification in other emails and they do not correspond to the user in question. It's strange because I have email messages with some of the tasks performed on this account, for example: subject: SSH [Bitbucket] SSH key added to (expected username)

Hi Martin,
I have created a support ticket for you using the email of your community account. You should have received an email with a link to the support ticket.
Since the email of your community account is a confirmed email alias of a certain Bitbucket account, we can share the primary email address of that account with you in the support ticket (I cannot do that in community for privacy reasons as it's a public space).
Just in case you haven't received the email with the link to the support ticket, please feel free to let me know and I can post the ticket's URL here (the contents of the support ticket will be visible only to you and Atlassian staff, no one else can view it even if they have the URL)
Kind regards,
Theodora
