Hello,
Not sure if this question was asked before and I apologize if I repeat the same as I don't seem to find a discussion thread in the archive in Atlassian Community.
I'm looking for some recommendations for software development analytics tools that can provide data-driven engineering practices and insights for a growing Agile team. We are using Bitbucket, JIRA and Confluence in Atlassian Cloud. A couple of products or add-ons were mentioned, such as Waydev, Pluralsights Flow, Awesome Graph for Bitbucket etc, but I would like to know if you have recommendation, experience and insight for a well-rounded analytical product that can help Agile software development team move toward data-driven engineering journey.
Thanks in advance!
Ian
Hello @Ian Huang ,
Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community.
Unfortunately, at this moment, Bitbucket Cloud does not offer a native analytics solution that you can use to gather statistics about your workspace and repositories. We have a feature request to implement that, though :
I would recommend you to add your vote there, since this helps both developers and product managers to understand the interest. Also, make sure you add yourself as a watcher in case you want to receive first-hand updates from that ticket. Please note that all features are implemented with this policy in mind.
While this feature is not implemented, in case you want to leverage some analytics in your repositories, I would suggest exploring the apps available in our Bitbucket Cloud Marketplace, such as Awesome Graphs For Bitbucket and Team Performance Summary.
Do let us know in case you have any further questions.
Thank you, @Ian Huang .
Kind regards,
Patrik S
Thanks for the reply, Patrik. It seems that the mentioned feature request might deliver some of useful insights, but it doesn't seem to be complete.
Since then, I googled some and found two products seem to be interesting: Waydev and Pluralsight Flow. Especially, it seems Waydev is providing some interesting data and dashboards for different audience (executive, engineering managers, project leaders, software engineers) and can help grow proactive engineering management journey.
From data-driven engineering perspectives, it would have been a very useful product if natively supported within Bitbucket. Regarding those two mentioned 3rd party apps in Bitbucket Cloud Marketplace, it doesn't seem there is a wide adoption based on the reviews there.
