Hello Community,

We have Bitbucket hosted in premises.

Bitbucket connects to Oracle Database.

Both, Bitbucket and Oracle are hosted on different Linux server machines.

For upgrade reasons, Oracle database server need to be restarted.

Should I restart Bitbucket application services as well?

Should I use following sequence?

  1. stop Bitbucket application service
  2. restart Oracle database server and database listener service
  3. start Bitbucket application service

Please suggest.

Hi Darshan,

Whenever you need to stop your database server you will need to stop Bitbucket Server first. You can restart Bitbucket Server once the database server is back up.

Best regards,

Hello. In current versions of Bitbucket is this still the case? My question is whether the application doesn't automatically try to reconnect when the database becomes available again. Thank you
