Remote Login Fails

codysteele January 11, 2021

We are running Bitbucket 5.9 on a Mac Mini running Catalina. This server has been working well and hosting repositories for everyone on our local network and remote developers as well. The server is using the default port 7990. Our Mac installed system or security updates last night and since then and following several reboots, no remote users can access the repos through Sourcetree or the webserver. Local computers can ping the server at it's static IP address and the server itself shows that Bitbucket has launched and is serving the repos to localhost or to its static IP address for a browser on the server itself. Any suggestions for troubleshooting this?

Thank you Soumyadeep, but you misunderstood my description of the problem. The Bitbucket web server is entirely unreachable. We do not have a problem authenticating when accessing the Bitbucket webserver from http://localhost:7990.

Hi Cody,

My hunch would be that the firewall on the Mac is preventing access from outside, so check if it's active and turn it off if needed.

Thank you Christian, but unfortunately, the firewall is off.
