Pull Request - Transition Jira Issue suddenly unavailable

Hi everyone!

I'm aware how to setup the linking between Jira & Bitbucket, allowing you to transition Jira Issues from the Bitbucket Pull Request Merge screen (as described here).

We did have this working for the past few months, however it has now stopped to work.

I can see that the link to the issue is established, because in the Jira UI I can see

1 Branch
1 commit
1 pull request

Likewise from the Bitbucket Pull Request UI the Jira ID is hyperlinked in the Pull Request title and clicking it brings up the correct Jira ticket:2023-04-20_16-14-32.png

Our Jira transition from "In Review" to "Review Complete" requires no interaction / has no mandatory fields.

We did have this working flawlessly over the past months / half year.

However, now the option to select the 'destination ticket status' has disappeared:

Thanks for chiming in if you have any ideas what would cause this to drop off.

Cheers,
Dominik

Hello @Dominik Feiler ,

Welcome to the Community and thank you for reporting this!

From the screenshot you have shared, I see that the Jira issue side card on the Pull request page was showing 0 Jira issues, even though the Pull request was correctly linked to an issue key.

We were tracking a bug (BCLOUD-22595 ) where the issues were not appearing in the pull request side card even when a Jira issue was linked in the PR's commits/title. I suspect that the transition option not appearing when merging a pull request is a side effect of the bug above.

Our engineering team has recently deployed a fix for this bug, so the newly created pull requests should not be affected by this. Could you please try creating a new Pull Request, with an issue key linked to its title, and let us know if the transition option is still not showing when you merge that Pull Request and also if the linked issues are showing in the Pull Request Jira side card?

Thank you, @Dominik Feiler !

Hey Patrik, thanks!

I can confirm the Jira issue now shows as linked and the transition is working again.

Thanks for resolving this so quickly!

Hello @Dominik Feiler ,

Happy to hear it's working again! Feel free to reach out if you ever need help in the future :)

Thank you,

Patrik S

Same issue here. Transitioning a jira issue on merge, dissapeared.

Thanks @Dominik Feiler for logging this issue!
