Public Project, Private Repo Access

Is there anyway someone could gain access to a private repo if it was contained within a public project?

Even if the project is public, no one will get access to private repository until and unless you added users explicitly to the private repository!!

If a workspace is private and contains a public repo, can anyone gain access to the repo?  Or does the private setting from the workspace prevent access to the public repo?
