Merge Checks ignored when merging PR

I am trying to demonstrate a POC using merge checks.

 

I added admin group as users who can merge to branch. (This works)

 

But when I set that the PR requires two approvals before merge this doesn't work and PR can be merged even without approval.

Hi!

There is a setting you must check in the branch permissions modal to prevent a merge with unresolved merge checks, which is a premium feature. Is that enabled on your branch?

Hi Anna, 

 

No this isn't enabled, we aren't using the premium plan for the moment. 

 

So I assume our check would work using premium. I thought I had missed something with the merge checks. Thanks!
