Link Bit Bucket (Cloud) Issues to JIRA (Cloud) Issue Type BUG

My team is developing a piece of software, and we are using BitBucket to capture Issues, and Jira to Drive the project.  This reduces cost for us as we don't need everyone to have a JIRA license.

How can I get Bit Bucket (Cloud) Issues to generate Jira (Cloud) "Bug" issue types?

As both pieces are software are owned and managed by Atlassian, I was surprised to not see this feature already in place.

I have followed the instructions here but that has not enabled 'automated' creating of BUG Issue types in Jira.

Any ideas?

Hi Lee,

You won't be able to create Jira issues from Bitbucket. What you can do is to use Smart commits and process your existing Jira issues using special commands in your commit messages in Bitbucket.
