Is there an equivalent to the notifyr addin for Bitbucket Cloud?

Chris Mann July 9, 2021

We currently use Notifyr addin for our locally hosted Bitbucket.

We are investigating whether or not to move to Bitbucket cloud, but make heavy use of the email notifications when code is pushed to our server, using the Notifyr addin.

Email notifications from Bitbucket cloud seem to only be sent for other users and not the current user. - Is there an option to make this send them or an alternative addin that gives the same functionality?

Thanks!

Hi @Chris Mann

Thank you for reaching out to the community.

Right now, by default, you will only receive email notifications from other users' actions.
We do have an existing feature request for it that can be located through this link. - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BCLOUD-11596
You can upvote and watch it for now so that you'll be notified of any updates from our team when the feature becomes available on Bitbucket Cloud.
Please do note that we don't have an exact ETA for the feature request as all new features will be implemented according to our policy here.

As a workaround, you can consider the following:

  • If you're using the Slack application, you integrate one or more repositories for you to receive Slack notifications and enable email notifications against Slack as well. - You can check this link for more information.
  • You can also explore Bitbucket Webhooks that will allow you to trigger actions within your repositories and create your own script that will send email notifications.

Do let me know if you have further questions that I can help with.

Regards,
Mark C
