By default Bitbucket uses this format for the first three lines of the pull request:
Merged in $branch_name (pull request $pr_number)
$pr_title
I would like to change it to this:
$pr_title (pull request $pr_number)
Because "Merged in" is a waste of space, and the branch name is not as useful as the pull request title in the header.
I've looked around the settings and couldn't find it.
If possible I'd like a shorter way to have (pull request $pr_number) link to the appropriate pull request as well, but this is secondary.
Hi Jan,
I'm afraid that it is not possible to configure this in Bitbucket settings, we have a feature request for this in our issue tracker:
I would suggest that you add your vote there (by selecting the Vote for this issue link), as the number of votes helps the development team and product managers better understand the demand for new features. You can also add yourself as a watcher (by selecting the Start watching this issue link) if you'd like to get notified via email on updates.
Please note though that we don't provide ETAs and implementation of new features is done as per our policy here https://confluence.atlassian.com/cloud/new-features-744721668.html.
In the meantime, I see that there is a third party Chrome and Firefox extension that can be used to configure among other things the default pull request commit message for Bitbucket:
If you use any of these browsers, you can try installing and configuring the extension, I believe it should be possible to set a default message like the one you mentioned.
Kind regards,
Theodora
