Is it possible to install addons from a Bitbucket terminal session?

carlp101 February 16, 2016

I need to install the commitgraph-2.0.jar addon on Bitbucket. Restrictions mean I can't browse from the Bitbucket GUI to the file. However, I do have the file on the Bitbucket server, so I'd like to know how I can install it via a terminal session.

Thanks

Carl,

If you copy the plugin jar to BITBUCKET_HOME/shared/plugins/installed-plugins on disk and restart Bitbucket Server, it should pick up the plugin.

Can you let me know if that works?

Hi Bryan,

That worked! Thanks very much. You've saved me a lot of effort and delay. It's very much appreciated.

For others who may need to use this method, I copied the plugin jar to /var/atlassian/application-data/bitbucket/shared/plugins/installed-plugins, changed the owner and group to atlbitbucket and the permissions to 0640, then restarted the atlbitbucket service.

All the best.

Carl

p.s. Check out commitgraph-2.1.jar just released last week.  It's about 10x faster, and has a number of bug fixes.  I also recommend Bit Booster Commit Graph (I'm the author), but it's $2/user.
