Git pull via app password stopped working

I was able to do a git pull using an app password 2 days ago, but when I did it today, it just says:

remote: Invalid username or password.

git pull doesn't prompt for username, only password could be wrong, I created a new app password just to be sure, but the new app password doesn't work either.

Did something change since 2 days ago?

Oh, I was using VSCode's terminal window, a separate terminal window worked fine.  So strange, I always use VSCode's terminal window!
