Failed connect to bitbucket.org:443; Operation now in progress

Ivan Scattergood February 11, 2016

Hi,

I am trying to clone my repo from Bitbucket using the following command line:

git clone https://ivanscattergood@bitbucket.org/ivanscattergood/isap.git

I get this error message

Failed connect to bitbucket.org:443; Operation now in progress

Any ideas of what I can do to troubleshoot this problem? I am on Centos-7

Hi Erik,

Thanks for the link:

https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucket/troubleshoot-ssh-issues-271943403.html#TroubleshootSSHIssues-GeneralSSHtroubleshooting

That's just the information I was looking for but I couldn't find it. Hopefully this will help someone else.

The issue was to do with the Firewall.

That's very limited information, but that error likely comes from an EINPROGRESS error on your local machine (or possibly an SSH tunnel host if you're using any?). Does this happen consistently or is it intermittent? What happens when you troubleshoot?
