Github has been involved in aggregating massive amounts of data for use in ChatGpt.
While this is theoretically data open for anyone to use the original code used in training has GNU licensing in most cases.
Effectively companies like ChatGpt is using our work product and selling it. Wired puts this well in their article on the topic.
Does Atlassian do this differently? Or do Devs need to be looking at hosting our own code again?
