Cannot push cleaned history, Read-only mode

Hello,

I'm attempting to use the BFG utility to clean all the big files out of my history.
https://rtyley.github.io/bfg-repo-cleaner/

I followed the process to the letter (that is, run the utility on a cloned mirror), but when I go to push, I find that the repo is in read-only mode.  This error is preventing me from fixing the issue that caused the error.
