Bitbucket Server upgrade path from 4.14.4 to 7.6

Bibin Varghese

Hi,

Currently we are using Bitbucket server 4.14.4 on RHEL 7. Can we upgrade directly from 4.14.4 to the 7.6 Long Term Support release or do we need to upgrade to an intermediate version eg: 5.0 or any other version first?

Hi Bibin,

There are no intermediate upgrades required, you can upgrade straight to 7 .6.

@Christian Glockner , is it possible to upgrade to the latest version 8.2 directly from 4.14.4?

Hi Bibin,

It's always a good idea to check the upgrade guide for the version you're planning to upgrade to. For 8.2 that's at https://confluence.atlassian.com/bitbucketserver/bitbucket-server-upgrade-guide-776640551.html and under Determine your upgrade path it says

You can update from any previous version of Bitbucket Server (or Stash) to the latest version, as there is no required upgrade path.

So the answer to your question is yes.

Sure, I'll check it out. Once again thanks for your prompt reply @Christian Glockner .
