Backup Bitbucket Datacenter Question

Maxime Alarie August 29, 2019

Good day,  I have a Bitbucket Datacenter setup, Im nnew here, and to BB. I was tasked to upgrade our setup from 5.14 to  6.x

My setup consists of  2  BB nodes, 1 DB Node,1 NFS Node and an elastoc search node.    I am planning on upgrading and need to backup everything 1st.  I am using the DIY backup script provided by atlassian..  My question is,   do I need to run the backup on all nodes? Im guessing not.. Since the script seems to connect to the DB and a shared NFS.. I  just want validate.

Also, Do i need to run the installer for the upgrade on all nodes?

Thanks

The Bitbucket Data Center FAQ answers both of these questions:

1.)  No, you don't need to run the backup on all nodes, but the node you point the backup agent to must have connectivity and awareness of all the other nodes (I suspect this means all nodes are present and healthy when you look at the "Settings --> Clustering" page on the node you've chosen to use for the backup).

2.)  Yes, each node in the cluster needs to be upgraded individually.
