Can I link build information via commit with Jenkins?

Hello.
I have followed this guide and integrated succesfully Jenkins with Jira:
However, build information is only informed if the branch name has the jira issue key. I have tried pushing a commit with the key informed but it doesn't work. Can the build information work with the key in the commit
