Hi,

we are seeing two issues

1)images will be in idle state for 24hrs plus

2)some agents will not start new instances when builds are placed

below is out auto instance config

Automatic elastic instance management

Bamboo will automatically manage your elastic instances based on the following criteria:

  • Bamboo will shut down elastic instances which have been idle for more than 5 minutes.
  • A maximum of 5 elastic instances can be started each minute.
  • New elastic instances will be started when all of the following conditions have been met:
    • There is at least 1 build in a queue.
    • There is at least 1 build in a queue that are executable on elastic images.
    • The average time builds have been waiting in a queue is at least 1 minute.
    • The number of elastic instances on your AWS account that are not controlled by Bamboo does not exceed 1,000.

please advise

Hello @Krishna Avala,

Welcome to Atlassian Community!

There are a few bugs that may trigger that behaviour in Bamboo. Can you please confirm your Bamboo version?

Thank you,

Eduardo Alvarenga

Hello @Krishna Avala

Thanks for confirming your Bamboo version.

That version is already at its End of Life, so we recommend you upgrade Bamboo the soonest to be at a supported release.

I can list a few bugs that may have been related to your case and have already been fixed on recent versions of the product.

And many more.

Sincerely,

Eduardo Alvarenga
