In addition to @robhit's suggestion of the blog subscription, with a MyAtlassian account, you can go to my.atlassian.com/email to select email notifications you'd like to receive. This will allow you to select from newsletters including:
Product information & Updates
Event invitations
Alerts (eg: security, maintenance)
