This question is in reference to Atlassian Documentation: Creating a custom elastic image
I am trying to find an AMI or Elastic Image that is Amazon Linux or Centos that is HVM. It seems all the stock Amazon Linux are all PV. Is there an HVM version?
Unfortunately the Bamboo team decided to not offer Amazon Linux HVM images for the time being, see @Przemyslaw Bruski's recent comment on https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BAM-16190:
Not at the moment. Amazon Linux, being a headless server distro is not a great fit for an agent OS because it does not support UI-based tools (e.g. Selenium). We will keep the existing images updated for now, but we really want people to move to Ubuntu.
Are there any plans to make or create a CENTOS or RedHat style version? We are completely a CENT shop and we don’t use Ubuntu at all if we can help it. We don’t use it and don’t know it very well and prefer the RedHat style distros?
Do we have any options about how we can create an HVM version or create a custom version on CENTOS? Is there any documentation or steps to create one.
Thanks,
Jeff
