Using automation to sum up estimation

Nitzan Matalon October 11, 2022

Hey,

Im trying to use automation in order to sum up the original estimate for subtasks to a custom field (called updated estimate) in the parent story- i succeed to that, but now i want to sum up the updated estimate in the stories to a custom field (also called updated estimate) at the EPIC PARENT.

I tried this automation:

but everytime that the updated estimate at the story changes, it wont triger the epic parnet..

Thank you for your help!

Hi @Nitzan Matalon and welcome to the community,

do I get it right that once your automation rule 1 updates the story (with its subtasks-estimate-sum) the 2. rule should be triggered and do the same for the epic with its stories?

If so:
In your 2. rule‘s details did you check that the automatiok rule is allowed to be triggered from another automation rule?

Best
Stefan
