Sending approval request to a user depending on who is selected in a custom field
Hi all,
I am trying to set up a request in Jira with approvers associated with it. I'd like one of the approvers to be a user who is selected from this 'Single user' dropdown field. How would I go about this in the Jira automation?
In addition to this, is it possible for this single user to be notified first, before it sends out another approval step to multiple other staff (the multiple other staff won't be variables, they will be the same users each time so it will be easier to implement their approval request).
At the moment, my automation is quite basic, but ideally what I would like is for;
1) The request gets logged
2) Approval request gets sent to the direct manager (selected by the customer when filling out the form).
3) Direct manager gets notified and approves this request, it then gets sent out for further approval by a few executives (which aren't variables, these will be the same people each time). (If direct manager declines request, it closes it).
