Whenever an automation rule is triggered it fails with the following message:

Unexpected error executing rule:java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/codebarrel/automation/api/thirdparty/AutomationRuleComponent

Hi @Shane Fitzgibbon

Would you please post an image of your rule and audit log for the rule?  That will help the community offer you ideas.  Thanks!

Best regards,

Bill

Thanks for that info!

There appears to be a problem with the contents of your edit or the smart values. Please post the text that is in your edit of the summary field as it is truncated in the image.

Hey Bill,

Having a very similar issue. Seems like the automation is failing for some unexpected reason. I've ran the same 'test' rules on another instance of Jira and they worked. Seems like Jira Automation Lite doesn't like the possible tech drift between the two and is therefore blocking me.

Hi @Bilal Mustafa -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!

It appears you are using Jira Server/Data Center, correct?  If so, you may want to work with your site admin to contact support for an error like that: https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/

For Cloud, I have only seen posts for that error as an intermittent problem.  For Server, it may be a problem after an update to the addon app.

Kind regards,
Bill

Just a quick update, clearing the cache of the jira box helped! You want to remove the '.osgi-plugins' and the '.bundled-plugins' folders.
