Hello Team,
Please could you help me with below request ASAP.
Jira Automation to update RAG status of EPIC, based on the linked In-progress & To-do issue RAG status.
RAG- (Red, Amber, Green)
Thanks,
Welcome to the community @karthik Hiremath !
First, you will need to create a trigger, I think the most suitable one would be Issue transitioned, Then you can use If/else block to control the value of the status (To Do, In progress, Done) and checking if the issue type is Epic, within your each If/else block you can Edit issue and set the RAG field value.
Here is an example:
Hello Team,
I have come up with below mentioned solution & it’s not executing properly.
Please could you help me to get it solved.
You must be a registered user to add a comment. If you've already registered, sign in. Otherwise, register and sign in.
What is not working as you expect?
Would you please post an image of the audit log showing the details of the rule execution? You appear to be using MS Windows, and so can use the built-in snipping tool to capture the screen image area.
Without seeing those, I suspect a problem is the rule conditions are testing the branched-to issue (the epic) and you may want conditions also on the {{triggerIssue}}

Hi @karthik Hiremath -- Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
As a reminder, the Atlassian Community is not a free labor pool to implement requests on demand, particularly in short timeframes. It is a community of users, helping and learning from each other.
And using Jira automation rules requires both learning and experimentation. I recommend looking at the how-to articles, creating a rule, and if you run into challenges, post images of your rule and the audit log details, and describe what is not working as you expect.
To get you started on creating your rule, please review this documentation and examples:
If this approach will not meet your needs, I recommend working with your team to hire a Jira administrator who can help.
Kind regards,
Bill
