I'm using power automate to pick up emails that land in a shared inbox, do some processing on the attachments, and then drop it in Jira service desk as an emailed ticket. There is a Jira connector is Power Automate that looks fairly basic at the moment but I am wondering if anyone else is using Jira with Power Automate and if so are you using the Jira connector?
Hi @Marcus Jones
I've used it once (with Jira Software) and it was basic, as you couldn't map to custom fields without manipulating the json manifest file.
My question back to you would be, why not move to a solution using the JSM Portal?...removing email completely
Great point! In this instance particularly we are dealing with several types of attachments (.jpg, .pdf, .doc, etc) and there are a few things I need to do to those attachments before they land in Jira. For PDFs I'm using AI in the power automate flow to extract data points for custom fields like dates and standard contractual details. I'm also doing conversions on the .jpg and .png files. This is all to eliminate manual steps the service desk agents would have to do otherwise and is the main reason I'm looking at that integration.

Sounds painful. How come such important data points are arriving in PDF and JPG files? If that data ends up in a custom field, ideally you can provide the customer with a mechanism to place directly in those fields.
