I'm building an automation that mimics what was on-prem.

The4 component on-prem was:

Then: Import template

I don't see a way to select 'Import template' in the list of fields available in cloud automation.  My intent is to import an 'issue for checklist pro' template.  Has anyone else been able to do this successfully?

Hi @Roger Hall

Automation rules trigger after something has happened, like issue create.  And so they cannot be used to create a template before that point.

For some scenarios, that is not such a problem.  For example, some may quickly create an issue, wait for the rule to run, and then immediately edit it to use the template-added information.

If you want a template at the time of issue create, particularly for a checklist field, please check with the vendor of the product you were (are?) using to learn what is possible.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hello @Roger Hall

I believe you are currently using Issue Checklist for Jira PRO and would like to use the Templates in automation.

To add Checklists to issues in the Cloud with automation using Issue Checklist PRO is quite different from the Server process.

If you wish to automatically add a Checklist upon Issue creation, then you can simply use the default Checklist feature. You would need to set this Template as the default Templates for the Issue Type or all Issue Types and the Issue will be added once created.

If you wish to use automation to do this based on other conditions, you can use the Label integration feature. You would need to name the label the same as the Template name. e.g. Test-Template(without spaces as labels do not support spaces/case sensitive). On the automation rule add an action to add the label to the issue, once the label is applied, the Checklists Template is added to the issue automatically. To avoid label clusters in case of multiple Checklist, you can add an action to remove the Labels, removing the Templates does not affect the Checklist already added.

You would first need to enable this feature from Global setting as described here.
