How to create an automation rule to update an epic's status?

I want to create an automation rule that updates the status of an epic to from "To Do" to "In Progress" when a story is manually changed to "In Progress".

 

I created a filter that identifies epics that need to be updated:  

project = "Enterprise Content Management" AND issuetype = epic AND status = "To Do" AND issueFunction in linkedIssuesOf("status = 'In Progress'", "has epic") AND key = ECM-8311

 

What do I select for the workflow and expression to change the epic status?2023-10-12_14h31_55.png

not sure what version of automation you are using but this is the simple version i created on jira cloud

My company uses JIRA Server 8.2 not JIRA Cloud

@Chris Arbuckle, this is Jira Cloud too, but here is how I set the Epic Status field:
