Created labels through Jira admin are not visible to other jira users in the projects

Shasheekant Patel August 5, 2024

Dear Community,

I hope you all are doing well!!

I am an Jira site admin of Jira Cloud site of my organization. I have Created few labels for the automation and I have checked and implemented in few projects. Problem is that those created labels are visible to me only not for other Jira users.

I have implement an automation for - If the labels field contains value "Subtask_Tree" then create predefined sub-tasks list for the story issue types

I am able to use this automation in the respective projects, while the user of the respective projects are unable to find the label "Subtask_Tree"

Automation .pngAs I know that labels have global scope, then why other team members are unable to use it.

Kindly suggest me the solution of the issue.

Hi @Shasheekant Patel

What is the symptom the other person is seeing that leads them to believe the label "Subtask_Tree" is not available.

Labels are shown / recommended in the field after they are first used.  Has the label been used in your site yet?

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Bill Sheboy

Thank you for your response. I'd like to inform you that these labels have been used in other testing projects in the same Jira instance by me (Admin).

I recall this symptom could occur if the user account did not have create / edit issue permission...although that seems unlikely for this case.

There was an defect a few years ago for this symptom, which was fixed by Atlassian: https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRACLOUD-74103

I recommend working with your Jira Site Admin to submit a ticket to Atlassian Support for their help.  When you hear back from them, please post what you learn to benefit the community.  https://support.atlassian.com/contact/#/
