Automation rule to create Epic and Stories (associated to the epic)

Hello community,

I am trying to figure out how to create an automation rule that creates an Epic and Stories (associated to the epic) in Project A (Jira) using a manual trigger in Project B (Jira Service Desk).

Once the Epic and Stories have been created, I want to link (issue link) the Epic created in Project A to the request in Project B.

So far, I was able to create and link the epic from project A to my request in Project B but I am struggling to create the stories and associate them with the epic.

Hi @Gabriel Viger - I think the easiest way (possibly the only way?) to this would be to use two rules.

Rule 1 - Your manual trigger rule, where the epic in Project A is created and linked to the request in Project B.

Rule 2 - Triggered when an epic is created; creates stories in project A, and links them to the trigger epic.

Hi Kevin,

I was actually able to produce a global rule that answered my needs.

Creating the a global rule targeting 2 projets is the only way it can work.
