How Create Custom filed Types in Jira Cloud programmatically ?

I was able to create custom field types with custom views in Jira server , can same be done in the cloud version?

Jira Cloud Platform does support create custom field type using the API described here: https://developer.atlassian.com/cloud/jira/platform/rest/v3/#api-rest-api-3-field-post
